Long-Term Family Engagement Plan

My long-term family engagement plan, adapted for my current teaching position, allowed me to critically analyze the needs of my population, as well as our needs as a new center. The above activities will sustain family engagement by creating a mutual partnership where families, stakeholders and the community are invested in our children's well-being and success.

By critically analyzing each resource highlighted, I was able to make a decision as to which opportunity would yield the most access and best results for my class as a whole.

Assessment C: Access Action Plans
This action plan helped me become a transformational educator by explicitly organizing the steps I needed to take in order to effectively execute these meaningful activities with students and families.
Instruction In Reading For The Young Child

The above activity deepened my instruction through examining community specific demographics, as well as analyzing how/why those may affect my students and families in regard to education and well-being. My key takeaway from this experience is that there is almost always a resource that will provide meaningful and relevant information to support students, teachers, and families throughout a myriad of events. Completing this research as part of my studies at Johns Hopkins taught me to efficiently and effectively provide access to my students and families.
